The Fab Four Become Five

When the decision was made that we were moving our family to London, I already had my creative sights set on this year’s Christmas card: Abbey Road. The Beatles have been a constant soundtrack in the 9 years Matt and I have been together. From the first time we slow danced together (in a hotel [...]

We Have Arrived!

We Have Arrived!

The first ten days in London were everything we imagined (besides the 90 degree temps with no A/C in our temporary housing.) We were up and out of the house every morning to explore a new neighborhood. The boys did better than we could have imagined. Dexter is almost four and has always been a [...]

Uptown Girl and a Whole New World

I've had the idea to start a blog for ages. With every life event, I would think, "this is the perfect opportunity." First kid, second kid, rare medical diagnosis, kid having multiple surgeries, etc. There was always a reason to write, and share my experience, but I never got around to publishing it. Then one [...]

I’ve been a little MIA on here so here’s a quick catch-up of what we were up to in May: Huck turned 4, friends got married, I did a quick trip to MN to do some work on my dad’s estate with my sister, Mother’s Day, family time, fun in the sun, and spending as much time outside as we can! Looking forward to what June will bring 🩵☀️
My sweet Shepard and his kindergarten class put on an amazing little concert just for Mother’s Day. He has been talking about it for weeks and was so excited for it. I have never met anyone who loves as hard and pure and raw as this kid does. It was a wonderful way to kick off our Mother’s Day weekend.
Posting this here so I can save it forever. #fathersday #dadandson
Monday #dopaminedressing outfit🧡🧡🧡 The color of this blazer is gorgeous in person and perfect for spring. There are matching high waisted shorts purchased separately to wear as a set or apart. Both are on sale now. #vicidolls

Easter 2023.
This week marks a year since my dad’s passing. A week I will forever remember as the beginning of the end. The signs from him are always strong and lately the nightly visits from him in our dreams are consistent and even reassuring; getting to wake up feeling like I just spent a few hours with him. In the beginning of 2022 I was flying to Minneapolis every two weeks to take my turn being with him while he was in and out of the hospital with chemotherapy and blood transfusions. This would go on from February to April when he suffered a stroke related to chemo side effects that proved to be fatal. I was able to get from Chicago to Mpls quickly that day- in time for him to know I was there along with my siblings and other family, but he was gone within hours. While grief is so different for everyone, this audio clip from Andrew Garfield speaking about his mom’s passing has been so poignant for me. I want to talk about it. I want to talk about him. I miss him in the physical form, but I don’t feel like he’s completely gone. His energy is constantly around us and I feel his presence all the time. I only hope the same for others who have suffered a loss of a loved one. #lifeafterloss #payattentiontothesigns
It’s about damn time. 💎 #springcleaning #chandelier #cleantok #cleanreels
This coat is sale on sale right now and selling fast! The quality is amazing and it runs large, so size down. I’m wearing an XS and it fits perfectly. Beautiful for spring fall and winter. And if it’s already warm where you are, but now, wear later.
